One of the key principles of a yoga practice is developing an attitude of non-violence (Ahimsa). At first glance, this might seem a bit odd—most of us wouldn’t consider ourselves pro-violence. However, adopting a spirit of non-violence extends beyond merely resisting the urge to confront the guy who cuts you off in traffic.

It’s more about nurturing a heart of compassion.

As we progress in our yoga practice, we aim to build strong bodies, minds, and ranges of motion. But our goals reach beyond physical strength; we seek to expand our ability to love and increase our capacity for kindness, even towards those who might not seem deserving.

By challenging ourselves physically, mentally, and spiritually, we cultivate a greater capacity for compassion.

So, this week, as we practice, let’s direct our thoughts toward compassion and work on growing our hearts three sizes, kinda like the old Grinch 🤣
