November 1-20 at Engedi Mind Body
There’s an old saying that when you have more, you build a longer table, not a taller fence. Engedi has always been about making room for more people, so this November we’re building one together.
From November 1 through November 20, we’re collecting canned food for the Community Service Center, our neighbor right next door. On November 23, we’ll deliver everything we’ve gathered so it can reach families before Thanksgiving.
How it works
- Get your sheet. Stop by the studio any time after November 1 and pick up a Thankful Table sheet. Write your name at the top, and we’ll hang it on our wall.
- Bring a canned item. Bring one or more canned food items any time you come to a class. Please make sure items are not expired, and no glass jars.
- Write a thank-you. For each item you bring, grab a sticky note, write something you’re thankful for, and stick it to your page.
- Watch the wall fill up. Each week has its own sticky note color, so by the end the wall will be a rainbow of gratitude.
Earn your invitation to our thank-you sound bath
As a thank-you to everyone who gives, we’re hosting a free sound bath after the drive wraps up. The date is coming soon.
To be invited, bring at least 3 canned food items each week for all 3 weeks (Nov 1-7, Nov 8-14, and Nov 15-20, a slightly shorter week). The sticky notes on your sheet are how we keep track: 3 notes in each week’s color earns your invitation.
You’re welcome to bring more than 3, and every can makes a difference. Starting late? No problem. Just bring the extra items to make up for the weeks you missed.
Who can take part?
Anyone. You don’t need to be a member, and you don’t need to attend a regular class. Friends, family, coworkers, and neighbors are all welcome.
Where and when
Engedi Mind Body, 395 E. Summerlin St., downtown Bartow. The studio is only open during class times, so please drop off your items then. Check the schedule for a class that works for you.
This is a team effort, not a competition. We’ll share progress as the wall fills up, and we can’t wait to see what you’re thankful for.
Thank you for helping us build a longer table.
